Each ancestor has their own page on the family tree. If you’re not used to looking at genealogy data, here’s a breakdown of what each section on a person’s page includes.
The page begins with the person’s name, birth date, and death date. Below that you will find the Facts section. This includes additional details about birth, death, burial, marriage, baptism, occupation, or any other life facts we have for the individual. Next is the Ancestors chart. This shows the individual, their parents, and great-grandparents. If these ancestors are known and are in the database you can click on their name to view their page.
The Family Group Sheet – Spouse displays information on the family this individual belongs to after marriage. Again, you can click on any of the names listed in this chart to view their page.
The Evidence section displays sources of evidence to confirm dates and information regarding the individual. Finally, the Descendancy Chart displays all descendants of the individual in the database.
If we do not have information for a person in a specific section it will not be displayed. The family tree is a work in progress and more ancestors, details, and evidence will be appearing over time.
Where to start? The Person Index and the descendency chart at the bottom of this page can get overwhelming and will become more so as we add additional ancestors and relatives. A good place to get started is with the two people that brought the family to America and their children…
Their children:
Sophia Gray Critchlow (1784-1871)
James Gray (1786-1868)
William Gray (1789-1867)
John Gray (1791-1853)
Nancy Gray Graham (1794-?)
Margaret Gray Shorts (1796-?)
Thomas Gray Jr. (1799-1876)
Mary Gray Boyd (1801-?)
If you are looking for a specific person I suggest using the search box located in the sidebar.
